The mountain refugio Lo Valdes was constructed in 1932 with local stone and hard woods which provide a rustic and informal atmosphere. The refugio consists of bedrooms upstairs, a large dining hall and a reading room which also doubles as a tv room(only dvd) or playroom for children. A large terrace is equipped with tables and lounging chairs which convert the terrace in a great place for viewing the spectacular panorama of the San Jose volcano, San Francisco glaciar and the National Park El Morado.

Refugio Lo Valdes offers accomodation all year in its 11 bedrooms:
Double bed rooms, rooms for 2, 3,4 and 5 people. Additionally there is the attic with a capacity for 8 people on matresses.

There is a bathroom for men and another for women both with hot water.

The refugio has an excellent restaurant (no room service) which is open all day until 21.00hrs.

There is no electricity so the refugio has its own generator which operates from when it starts to get dark until around 23.00hrs. It is worth bringing a torch with you.
